New Overtime Rules for Salaried Employees

The United States Department of Labor updated the salary level above which certain employees may be exempt from overtime pay requirements.  This change raises the salary level from its previous amount of $455 per week or $23,660 per year to a new level of $913 per week or $47,476 per year.  Salaried employees paid below the updated salary are generally entitled to overtime pay, while employees paid at or above the salary may be exempt from overtime pay if they primarily perform certain duties.

To find out if how these rules affect your company, or to discuss options for responding to the changes of salary levels for overtime pay requirments, please contact Martin Folino, LPA at (937) 461-6328.
